A Message from Our President
Thank you for visiting the website of the Consular Corps of Washington, DC. I trust you will find it interesting and informative.
Consular work has become a very important and high-profile aspect of diplomatic activity and it can be both rewarding and demanding in equal measure. There is always much to learn from fellow consular professionals, and from corporate partners, and that is why the Consular Corps has become such an effective group here in Washington.
Our working-lunch series this year features guest speakers from a range of disciplines, including visas and citizenship, contingency planning, post-disaster family support, and legal and health care issues facing foreign nationals. We will also be conducting training sessions for members on pandemic responses and on fraudulent document detection. The focus is very much on providing information that is useful and relevant for both experienced consular officers and those new to consular work.
But it’s not all hard work. Consular Corps members get together socially on a regular basis to network, exchange views, share better practice ideas and discuss emerging consular challenges.
New members are always welcome so please contact either myself or one of the other Board members for further information.
